Shaykh Raed Salah Victorious after slander campaign in Britain
Shaykh Raed Salah’s court victory exposes lies of Pro-Israeli lobbying
Wednesday, 11 April 2012
The Muslim Judicial Council SA [MJC] and the Media Review Network [MRN] welcomes the outcome of a court ruling that overturned Home Secretary, Theresa May’s deportation order issued against him last year.
After having being misled by insinuations and deceptive plots fabricated by pro-Israeli lobby groups in the United Kingdom, to have Shaykh Raed Salah deported for anti-Semitism and incitement to violence, the Vice-President of the Upper Tribunal in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber has ruled that the Home Secretary’s attempts to deport Shaykh Raed Salah last year were unfounded.
This ruling once again raises the concern of the deceptive plots used to silence the voice of those who speak out against the injustices committed by Zionist Israeli propagandists.
Therefore decisions made by the Home Secretary, Theresa May, was influenced by falsified, distorted and malicious fabrications made by Mike Freer MP, with the support of sensationalized media reports fed by Israel’s defamation campaign. These groups unashamedly and wilfully distorted the contents of a poem written by Shaykh Raed Salah in order to justify their deceptive plan.
The judgement delivered by Mr. Justice Ockelton, said that Home Secretary Theresa May, “was misled” and was under a “misapprehension as to the facts”. The Judge was scathing in his assessment of the Home Secretary when he said that she sees “danger” that even Israel does not see. The Home Secretary’s reliance on pro-Israel Jewish community groups who provided the “evidence” which formed the basis of her case against Sheikh Raed has been totally discredited by the judgement.
This ruling is a landmark for freedom of speech as well as the rights of the Palestinians to campaign against the injustices they are faced with at the hands of the Israeli Authorities. This freedom must be protected. It is significant that a senior law officer in Britain has seen through the propaganda and has stood up for this important pillar of democracy and human rights.
Shaikh Raed Salah, who is a Palestinian citizen of Israel, can now return to Israel, having seen his faith in the British justice system restored. He goes home with a clear conscience and no blemish against his name. End
