Studying Tajweed and Qirā’ah should enable students to:

Develop the love of reciting the Qur’ān.
Distinguish and understand the principles and rules of Tajweed and its development as a discipline.
Develop the ability to use the proper phonetics and pronunciation in the Arabic language when reciting the Qur’ān.
Recite the Qur’ān implementing the principles and rules of Tajweed according to the narration of Ḥafs from ‘Āsim.
Instill passion to recite the Qur’ān correctly, fluently, and beautifully.
Develop the natural capability to use the correct phonetics in all forms of Arabic recitation such as the Qur’ān.
Memorise portions of the Qur’ān and develop the passion to memorize more.

Madrasah al Irshad (School of Guidance) held at the Primrose Park Masjid (madrasah complex), cnr Kunene & Ohio , Primrose Park, every Sunday morning from 9am till 11:30pm.

With learners’ busy academic and sport activities, coming home late from school, Sunday Mornings are ideal for Madrasah.

The Institute of Islamic Studies forms part of a community outreach and development programme. We offer Islamic studies and Quran/Surah reading for toddlers, primary and high school learners. Classes are conducted every Saturday morning from 9.30am – 12.30 pm and will commence from 2 February 2013. Classes are held at the Masjiedul Khidma, corner of Taronga and Lawson Roads Rondebosch East.

A youth programme: This is a comprehensive 1 year programme for high school learners. The course covers Islamic studies as well as contemporary issues that confront our youth.
